OSU had become the winner of Ministry of Education and Science competition "Personnel for Regions" and will receive from Federal budget around 70 billion rubles for implementation of its specialists training project for regional organizations.

32 Institutions of Higher Education took part in competitive selection and 13 of them were the winners after the second stage.

- It was right that Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation supported regional universities by means of such competition, because economic development of territories and regions depends on HEI activity, — considered OSU rector Vladimir Kovalevsky.

OSU project should be implemented during 2013–2014 in partnership with eight regional enterprises — leaders of engineering, energy and construction industries. The governor of Orenburg region Yury Berg supported the University project by the letter to Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation.

The development of training programs, creation of Regional Resource Center of laboratory industrial facilities, several testing rooms, improvement of lecturers’ competence — are presented in two years job schedule of Orenburg State University.
