On the 6 of April residents of 181 Russian cities and foreign people have joined together to check knowledge level of Russian language.

"Total dictation" was organized for the 10th time but Orenburg took part in the international educational action for the first time.

About 400 natives of Orenburg expressed wish to test themselves for literacy. There were people of different ages and profession: students, pensioners, journalists, housewives and many others.

The participants wrote the uniform text; writer Dina Rubina became the author this year. The topic of dictation being a secret until the last moment is relevant for nowadays: "Is the Internet harm or good?". According to participants, the text was not easy, primarily due to much copyright punctuation.

As the result: 24 B (good marks) students and 2 A (excellent marks) students. They were invited to the solemn summing-up of "Total dictation".

In formal ceremony the audience was handed the documents confirming their knowledge of Russian language as well as gift certificates for books purchase. According to the organizers main goal of the "Total dictation" is to awake interest in everyone to increase their level of literacy. This year the action covered all six continents for the first time including Antarctica, where the year-round station "Progress" employees wrote dictation. The participants number of "Total dictation" reached 32 280 people, including 2 564 abroad.
