On Sunday morning, October 15, Orenburg State University opened its doors to the participants of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.
On the second day of their stay in Orenburg, young people from Vietnam, China, Bulgaria, Brazil, Spain, Italy came to the university, where the participants and volunteers of the regional festival platform and OSU students welcomed them. Meeting the guests with applauses and greetings in French, Spanish and English, they heard in response such native “Dobroje utro” and “Privet” as the guests thanked them for a warm welcome exclusively in Russian.
The participants visited the University’s History Museum, as well as Rare and Valuable Books Department at OSU Scientific Library.
On the 7th floor of the library the university faculties art groups greeted the guests with a flashmob dance and songs in the languages of the festival. In the Museum of Geology the guests saw how rich the Orenburg land was in mineral resources. The Faculty of Chemistry and Biology and the Faculty of Physics demonstrated the experiments in their labs. Thus the guests were introduced to the study of the kinetics of delayed fluorescence of molecules in living tissues induced by laser radiation.
The central event of the educational program of the Orenburg regional platform of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students was a panel discussion “Man and Education: how to stay tuned”. It brought together over 400 people, including the participants of the regional program of the festival, as well as students of Orenburg universities, its branches and OSU University College.
Zhanna Ermakova, OSU Rector and Vera Bashirova, Vice Governor — Vice Chairman of the Orenburg region government for domestic policy, greeted the audience.
The event was moderated by Nikita Trofimov, member of the Board of Directors of the Agency for the Professional Qualifications Developement, Vice President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers on the development of professional qualifications.
