How can we present a simple at first glance goat? On 11th of February fine art masters and designers demonstrated what could be the goat in frames of exhibition opening in “Orenburg shawl” gallery.
Gennadiy Naydanov — Associated Professor of OSU Drawing and Painting Department, Honorary Cultural Worker of Russia was the designer of this exhibition named “Goat’s fun”. The idea of exhibition belongs to Irina Bushukhina, iExpert of Orenburg Fine Art Museum.
The main character of exhibition hall was a goat. According to the East Calendar it is a sign of the year 2015 and also an ancestor of one of the Orenburg symbols. A goat and Orenburg shawl are closely related.
Horned creatures were illustrated on the pictures gathered in collections of promotion leaflets, photos. Another character of this exhibition was a doll. Dolls were presented in different styles of decorative painting: Gzhel, Khokhloma, Dymkovo, Abashevo, Filimonovo and Kargapol toy.
Goats made from felt, splint, flax, straw, clay, ceramics, wood, soft materials with shawl on shoulders adorned the exhibition hall. The true treasure of this exhibition was superfine shawls with goat illustration, hand knitted by Orenburg needlewomen.
The items for the exhibition were gathered from all over Russia and near-abroad countries. Craftsmen, museums and collectors from Saint-Petersburg, Tambov, Lipetsk, Krasnoyarsk, Volgograd and other cities famous for its handcrafted production, sent the exhibits for this event. The showpieces were also presented from Kazakhstan, Western and Eastern Europe.
