Student Exchanges

The joint "double diploma" program for students majoring in architecture and economics has sparked striking results, with more thanš40 OSU students completing the courses successfully and receiving two degreesš— a European one and OSU’s.

Staff Exchanges

Staff exchanges provide administrator visits to analyze and evaluate the cooperation between the universities and outline new activities; short-term staff exchange arrangements; lectures and seminars covering different subjects areas (foreign languages, economic management, management in construction, etc.)

Joint International Programs and Projects

In Augustš2006, the OSU International Programs and Projects Office and the VIA School of Technology and Business were granted 135,000šEuro for the TEMPUS/TACIS Project entitled, "Development of Quality Assurance in Russian Higher Education." The University of Applied Sciences in Hammenlinna (Finland) acted as the project’s co-partner. Within the framework of the project, during the 2007–2008šacademic year, Denmark, Finland and Russia held seminars and trainings for their staff members who were involved in the educational services quality evaluation.

Inš2006 Vitus Bering University College initiated the project "Network and Language Courses" for partnerš— universities from Denmark, Spain, Poland, Russia and Finland. Every year representatives from the universities meet to develop their English language skills and discuss future collaborative projects.

To execute the plan OSU invited a group of VIA members: Jorgen Jensen, Chief Consultant, Peter Georg Jahn, Senior Consultant, and Kurt Hansen, Consultant who trained through a short-term course for the Orenburg industry and business community.

Cultural exchange

In August 2006, Vitus Bering University College hosted the OSU dancing ensemble "Zhemchyzhinka". Special tour arrangements allowed the group to present its art and dances and to immerse into the Danish culture and lifestyle. The feedback from the project was so positive that in September 2010 VIA initiated and financed another tour for the OSU dancing group in Horsens.

On September 21–26, 2007 the Danish music group "Shaky Ground" paid a visit to Orenburg State University. The guests gave their concerts at the OSU Students’ Center "Russia" and performed, for the Russian audience, songs which are very popular in Denmark and Scandinavia.

On August 28–29, 2009 the students and staff members of the OSU Design Department participated in "The European Medieval Festival" that took place in Horsence (Denmark) and presented to the festival’s audience a hand-made Russian Medieval collection of costumes. Together with the Orenburg folk ensemble "Peregoda" the OSU representatives arranged their performance in the form of a dramatized show. Lastly, the OSU delegation visited some departments of VIA University College in Arhus, Herning and Horsense, and learned about the peculiarities of the Danish education system and the most popular student exchange programs.
