School of Chinese Language

The School of Chinese Language opened in 2012 and functions as a unit of the OSU International Cooperation Department.

Priorities:

• to run the Chinese language courses and language training;
• to plan and hold cultural events;
• to carry out project activities in cooperation with Chinese partners;
• to consult and assist in searching and choosing a university to study or to have practice or internship in China;
• to collect documents required for studies, practice or internship and to fill out application forms.

Chinese Language Courses

The School holds Chinese language courses. The training program uses effective teaching methods and tools. It was developed with the support of the Oriental Studies Department of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow).

The staff of the center is ready to meet the requests on any further in-depth studies of the language and culture.

All educators belong to the OSU Faculty of Philology and have completed training and upgrading at the Chinese universities.

Apart from studying the language, the students of the courses get country-studies knowledge, learn about Chinese traditions, get acquainted with the peculiarities of doing business with the Chinese partners. They have lectures on the history, culture, spiritual and philosophical and ethnic traditions of China, workshops on calligraphy and Chinese painting, classes on decorative and applied arts of China, traditional Chinese tea ceremonies.

At the end of the course, after passing the exams, our students get a standard form OSU certificate. In addition, students have the opportunity to undergo internships at Chinese universities.

Classes are held twice a week for 2 academic hours.
