Application Process and Required Documents

Foreign students from countries that have strict visa regulations with the Russian Federation (RF) are required to obtain an entry visa to study at OSU.

To get an entry visa for studies foreign students need to submit an application to the RF Embassy or Consulate in their home country together with an official invitation from the university prior to their departure.

An official invitation from the university is issued after the successful passing of entry examinations and enrollment in one of the university majors. To take entrance examinations foreign students are to apply for a tourist entry visa.

To obtain an official invitation from the university foreign applicants are required to submit the following documents to the OSU international office:

  • An original or notarized copy of the applicant’s passport (it must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended departure date from Russia).
  • An original or notarized copy of the applicant’s High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. certification, GED, etc.) or post-secondary education such as, the college or university of attendance. Applicant’s must submit a transcript which includes a list of subjects/ programs/courses and credits or exam grades. The documents must be translated into Russian and notarized by a Russian notary’s office, or by the RF consulate in the applicant’s home country.
  • An evaluation of diploma equivalence obtained from the Russian Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science.
  • 6 photos of 3x4šcm.

Enrollment for foreign students is based on their entrance exam scores (the Unified State Exam) Applicants either:

  • Pay a tuition fee;
  • Compete with other student candidates for tuition-free enrollment if they originate from a country that has signed an international agreement with the Russian Federation; If they have letter of referral from the Russian Federal Agency for Education; Or, if they arrive from a co-partner institution.

The period for submitting applications to take entrance exams is Juneš20š— Julyš25.
