Cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Moscow

On August 17, as a part of his visiting program to the Orenburg region the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Poland, Ezhi Bar, visited Orenburg State University. He was introduced to the university’s structure, its history, and international activities. When meeting with OSU’s rector, Prof. Vladimir Kovalevskiy, Ambassador Ezhi Bar discussed the possibilities of developing possible contacts with Polish universities and organizations.

Cooperation with the Silesian Technical University (STU)

In April 2008, OSU delegates together with the OSU rector Prof. Kovalevkiy attended the international conference "Cooperative Possibilities between Russia and Poland in the Sphere of Higher Education", held at Silesian Technical University (STU) in Gliwice.

Further cooperation with STU developed through a new joint project: in July 2008 the Silesian Technical University (Gliwice, Szczyrk, Poland) welcomed international linguistic courses for educators from the universities of Denmark, Spain, Poland, Finland and Russia. Orenburg State University representatives were V. Temkina, Head of English Philology and the English Language Methodology department, and N. Yankina, Director of International office. Linguistic courses were organized to improve communicative skills in English and to develop cooperation between the university participants. During that visit OSU and STU representatives signed a collaborative agreement.

In August 2009 Danuta Obracaj, STU staff mamber, participated in the next seria of the international linguistic courses held at OSU.

Cooperation with the Orenburg Region Cultural and Educational Center "Czerwone Maki"

In 2008, together with the Orenburg Region Cultural and Educational Center, "Czerwone Maki," our university participated actively in the Festival of Poland Culture in the Orenburg region. On May 4, OSU arranged a Day of Polish Science and hosted Heronim Gral, Director of the Polish Cultural Center in Moscow who gave a lecture to the students and staff members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences entitled, "Poland and Russia in the 16–18^th Centuries: The Cradle of Mutual Stereotypes".

The OSU students’ center "Russia" accommodated exhibitions of modern Polish posters and photography collections presenting the history of cultural relations between Poland and Russia and the evolution of Polish culture in the 20^th century.

Natalia Fokicheva, Faculty of Philology student, participated and received a first place award in the contest "Miss Polonia".

Arranging meetings with cultural and scientific workers

On October 4, 2012 OSU hosted Krzystof Zanussi, Polish film director and screenwriter who accompanied his talk with the demonstrated to the audience a short documentary film “To catch up Zanussi” about him, his family and his creative work.

Scientific cooperation

In June 2014 Svetlana Pankova, Dean of Economics and Finances Faculty, participated in the conference "Modern problems in accounting and finances: theory and practice" in Bialystok University of Technology.
